Neuroleptic Cardiomyopathy: Let’s Get Acquainted by Volkov VP in LOJ Medical Sciences(LOJMS) - Lupine Publishers

he presented mini-review summarizes the results of our own research and rather rare literature data on the problem of neuroleptic cardiomyopathy. The aspects of etiology, epidemiology, clinical course, electrocardiographic signs and pathomorphology of the disease are briefly considered. The question of nosological independence of neuroleptic cardiomyopathy is raised. Neuroleptic (antipsychotic) cardiomyopathy (NCMP) is a little known to a wide range of doctors iatrogenic pathology. It is associated with a side cardiotoxic effect of antipsychotic drugs. The disease belongs to secondary specific metabolic dilated cardiomyopathies and is characterized by diffusion damage of a myocardium, by sharp decrease in its contractile function and by the progressing of congestive chronic heart failure (CHF).

 Investigation on Gastrointestinal Tract: A Review by Amrish Kumar in LOJ Medical Sciences(LOJMS) - Lupine Publishers

The gastrointestinal (GI) tract is composed of organs and tissues that have diverse forms and functions. It includes the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, large intestine, colon, rectum, biliary tract, gallbladder, liver, and pancreas. Despite the rapid proliferation of technology for the diagnosis of digestive diseases, the patient history and physical examination still hold central roles. When combined with a thorough patient history and physical examination, diagnostic procedures are essential in the evaluation of GI disorders. This review describes the most commonly used tools available in clinical practice to evaluate patients with GI diseases.
